SUBJECT : Maintenance of the codes: corrections of penal
provisions

DIGEST : This bill makes numerous minor conforming and
technical changes to penal provisions in various codes, as
determined and urged by the California District Attorneys
Association.
ANALYSIS : Existing law includes penal provisions in
numerous codes.
This bill makes technical corrections in various penal
provisions, as described below:
1.Fam. Code 17400.5 child support - adds the word
"agency" in phrase "local child support agency . . ."
2.Health & Saf. Code 11372 - fines - grammar and syntax
corrections.

3. Health & Saf. Code 11479 - destruction of drugs taken
as evidence, samples for court, etc. - corrects
statutory reference.
4.Pen. Code 88 - forfeiture of specified offices
following conviction - corrects statutory reference or
definition.
5.Pen. Code 182 - conspiracy - spelling/syntax
correction.
6.Pen. Code 289 - sexual penetration crime definition -
grammatical correction.
7.Pen. Code 374a - rewards for capture of criminal -
corrects statutory reference.
8.Pen. Code 471 - forgery - corrects and clarifies
statutory reference.
9.Pen. Code 487 - grand theft - corrects organization of
subdivision and subparagraph.
10.Pen. Code 504 - violation of public trust or fiduciary
duty - corrects grammar and syntax.
11.Pen. Code 598d - prohibition of horsemeat sale -
spelling and grammar.
12.Pen. Code 599b - animal cruelty - spelling and grammar
correction or clarification.
13.Pen. Code 653t - disruption of emergency transmission
- dollar sign ($) omission.
14.Pen. Code 667.6, subdivision (c) - consecutive terms
for sex crime - correct numbering order in provisions.
15.Pen. Code 803, subdivision (j) - statutes of
limitation - corrects statutory reference.
16.Pen. Code 969c and 969d - charging procedures for
weapon enhancements - eliminates outdated and irrelevant

constitutional reference.
