LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 2544, Bill Campbell. Contractors: home improvement salespersons. Existing law, the Contractors' State License Law, authorizes the Contractors' State License Board to conduct all functions and duties relating to the licensing, regulation, and discipline of licensees. Existing law requires the board to submit a report to the Governor and the Legislature regarding board transactions, including a complete statement of receipts and expenditures during the preceding biennium. This bill would require the board to post specified information on its Web site each week regarding home improvement salesperson registration applications. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 7017.5 is added to the Business and Professions Code, to read: 7017.5. By the close of the first business day of each week, the board shall post the following home improvement salesperson registration information on its Web site: (a) The earliest enrolled date of the unprocessed applications on file at the close of the prior business day. (b) The earliest enrolled date of an application for which a registration number has been issued at the time of the posting required by this section.
