   An act to amend Section 52499.6 of the Education Code, relating to
public schools.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 2264, Wyland.  Public schools:  home economics and career
technical education.
   Existing law, to be repealed on January 1, 2003, establishes an
incentive grant program for the purpose of improving, expanding, and
establishing instructional programs in home economics and technology
career technical education.
   This bill would delete the repeal date and would extend the
program until January 1, 2008.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:


  SECTION 1.  Section 52499.6 of the Education Code is amended to
read:
   52499.6.  This article shall remain in effect only until January
1, 2008, and as of that date is repealed, unless a later enacted
statute, that is enacted before January 1,  2008, deletes or extends
that date.
