LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 362, Garcia. Health care service plans. Existing law, the Knox-Keene Health Care Service Plan Act of 1975, makes the Department of Managed Health Care responsible for administering the act's provisions and requires it to maintain information regarding the operation of health care service plans. This bill would require the department to maintain a database indicating for each county, the names of the health care service plans operating in that particular county. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 1346.1 is added to the Health and Safety Code, to read: 1346.1. The department shall maintain a database indicating for each county, the names of the health care service plans that operate in that particular county.
