LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST AB 144, Correa. County employees' retirement: safety membership. Under the County Employees Retirement Law of 1937, all welfare fraud investigators and administrators budgeted within the Orange County Human Services Agency's Special Investigation Unit are ineligible for safety membership benefits. This bill would authorize the county board of supervisors of that county to make all welfare fraud investigators and administrators within the county eligible for those benefits. THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 31470.10 of the Government Code is amended to read: 31470.10. Notwithstanding Section 31470.2, all welfare fraud investigators and administrators budgeted within Orange County shall be eligible, regardless of which county department actually supervises or funds them, and shall receive those benefits upon a majority vote of the board of supervisors.
