   An act to amend Section 12301 of the Water Code, relating to
water.



	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   SB 264, Machado  Delta Flood Protection Fund.
   Existing law establishes the Delta Flood Protection Fund. Under
existing law, the fund is abolished on July 1, 2006, and all
unencumbered moneys in the fund are transferred to the General Fund.

   This bill would extend the existence of the fund until July 1,
2008.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:


  SECTION 1.  Section 12301 of the Water Code is amended to read:
   12301.  The Delta Flood Protection Fund is hereby abolished on
July 1, 2008, and all unencumbered moneys in the fund are transferred
to the General Fund.
