   An act relating to privacy.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 1392, as introduced, Saldana. Online privacy.
   The Information Practices Act of 1977 declares that the right to
privacy is a personal and fundamental right, and that all individuals
have a right of privacy in information pertaining to them. The
Computer Protection Against Computer Spyware Act provides specified
protections for the computers of consumers in this state against
certain types of computer software.
   This bill would declare the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation that would enhance online privacy.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation that would enhance online privacy.
