   An act relating to disasters.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 1421, as introduced, Levine. Disaster evacuation: registry.
   Existing law provides for the organization and oversight of
various disaster assistance services in the state.
   This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation to create a registry of California residents with special
needs for evacuation purposes in the event of a disaster.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation to create a voluntary registry of California residents
with special needs for evacuation purposes in the event of a
disaster.
