AB 2450, as introduced, Davis. Tenancies: foreclosure.
Existing law provides that a tenant in possession of a rental
housing unit that has been sold under specified foreclosure
proceedings shall be given written notice to quit at least as long as
the term of the lease, but not exceeding 30 days, before the tenant
may be removed.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation that would require a landlord who acquires title to
residential rental property through foreclosure to provide 90 days'
notice to a tenant before the tenant may be removed.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation that would require a landlord who acquires title to
residential rental property through foreclosure to provide 90 days'
notice to a tenant before terminating the tenant's lease.
