   An act to amend Section 17200 of the Business and Professions
Code, relating to unfair competition.

   SB 335, as introduced, Ackerman. Unfair competition: definition.
   Existing law defines an act of unfair competition as including an
unlawful, unfair, or fraudulent business act or practice; an unfair,
deceptive, untrue, or misleading advertisement; and other specified
conduct relating to representations made to the public.
   This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to this definition.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 17200 of the Business and Professions Code is
amended to read:
   17200.  As used in this chapter, unfair competition shall mean and
include any unlawful, unfair  ,  or fraudulent business act
or practice  ;  and  any  unfair, deceptive,
untrue  ,  or misleading advertising  ;  and any
act prohibited by Chapter 1 (commencing with Section 17500) of Part 3
of Division 7 of the Business and Professions Code.
