	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   SB 1447, as introduced, Yee. Energy: net metering.
   Existing law authorizes the City of Davis to receive a bill credit
to a benefiting account for electricity supplied to the electrical
grid by a photovoltaic facility located within and partially owned by
the city.
   This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation to authorize net metering aggregation for installed solar
energy systems to allow city governments to install solar panels in
one location and use that collected energy to offset the energy costs
of their other facilities.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation to authorize net metering aggregation for installed solar
energy systems to allow city governments to install solar panels in
one location and use that collected energy to offset the energy costs
of their other facilities.
