An act relating to care facilities.
LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST
SB 1729, as introduced, Migden. Senior care facilities:
sensitivity training.
Existing law, the Mello-Granlund Older Californians Act, which is
administered by the California Department of Aging, establishes
various programs that serve older individuals, including area
agencies on aging, home-delivered meals programs, community-based

center funding programs, and aging information and education
programs.
Under existing law, the State Department of Social Services
licenses and regulates residential care facilities for the elderly
and other facilities that provide care to seniors.

facilities to prepare them for the sensitivities of serving lesbian,
gay, bisexual, and transgender seniors.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. It is the intent of the Legislature to enact

facilities to prepare them for the sensitivities of serving lesbian,
gay, bisexual, and transgender seniors.
