           SUMMARY  :   Recognizes California as the leading high technology  
          center in the United States (U.S.); declares that it shall  
          remain the leading high technology center in the U.S.; and,  
          declares the 2nd week of May, annually, as California High  
          Technology Week.   Specifically,  this resolution  makes the  
          following legislative findings:  

          1)According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, California  
            is America's leading high technology state in terms of the  
            quality and quantity of high technology jobs, companies,  
            payroll, and wages.

          2)In 2006, California ranked first among all states in  
            employment in a number of technology industry manufacturing  
            sectors; and, the economic health of the great State of  
            California is predicated on the fortunes of its industries.

          3)The policies of the State of California should promote and  
            protect those industries that bring prosperity for its  
            citizens.
