SUMMARY : Recognizes the week of April 26, 2009, through May 2,
2009, as Crime Victims' Rights Week. Specifically, this

1)The remembrances observed during National Crime Victims'

the combined efforts of citizens, government, and the criminal
justice system to improve victims' services in California.

2)Through the passage of Proposition 8, the Crime Victims' Bill
of Rights, in 1982, and Proposition 9, the Victims' Bill of
Rights Act of 2008: Marsy's Law, California citizens have
protected victims' rights in the California Constitution.

3)Since 1981, National Crime Victims' Rights Week has raised
awareness of the special needs of crime victims; and this
year's theme is "25 Years of Rebuilding Lives: Celebrating
            the Victims of Crime Act."
