SUBJECT : Sonoma Wine Country Weekend

           SOURCE : Author

DIGEST : This resolution proclaims the weekend of
September 4 through 6, 2009, as Sonoma Wine Country Weekend
and extends its support to this celebration of California
          grape growing and winemaking heritage.

           ANALYSIS :

This resolution makes the following legislative findings:

1.California's viticulture is of great historical
significance, dating back to the 18th century and the
growing of sacramental wine at California's missions; and
Sonoma Wine country Weekend celebrates California's
historical place as a grape growing region and wine
            producer.

2.This grape growing and winemaking heritage is also
economically significant, providing billions of dollars
to the local economy each year; and Sonoma County and,
specifically, Sonoma Valley have played a key role in the
            development of California wine.
