          SUBJECT  :   Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day

           SUMMARY  :   Requires the Governor to annually proclaim March 30  
          as "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day." 

           EXISTING LAW  :
           
           1)Requires the Governor to proclaim various days as holidays and  
            days of remembrance.

           FISCAL EFFECT  :   Unknown

           COMMENTS  :   According to the author, the annual proclamation of  
          March 30 as "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day" will encourage  
          all Californians to take part in remembrance of the service ,  
          efforts, and sacrifices of Vietnam Veterans, and pay homage to  
          those veterans who are still alive.

           Related Legislation  :  ACR 151 (Cook) of 2008 recognized December  
          10 through December 14, 2008 as "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans  
          Week" (Resolution Chapter 163, Statutes of 2008).
