           SUMMARY  

          This bill requires the governor to proclaim March 30 of each  
          year as "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day."

           FISCAL EFFECT  

          There are no significant costs associated with this legislation.  


           COMMENTS  

           1)Purpose  . The intent of this legislation is to encourage all  
            Californians on March 30 each year to take part in remembering  
            the service, efforts, and sacrifices of Vietnam veterans and  
            to pay homage to those veterans who are still alive. 

           2)Related Legislation  . ACR 151 (Cook; Resolution Chapter 163,  
            Statutes of 2008) recognized December 10 through 14, 2008 as  
            "Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Week."
