INTRODUCED BY Assembly Member Evans

                        FEBRUARY 27, 2009

An act to amend Section 23399.3 of the Business and Professions
Code, relating to alcoholic beverages.

	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 1470, as introduced, Evans. Alcoholic beverage licensees:
hospitals.
The Alcoholic Beverage Control Act contains various provisions
regulating the application for, the issuance of, the suspension of,
and the conditions imposed upon, alcoholic beverage licenses by the
Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control. Under existing law, the
department may issue an on-sale special beer and wine license for
hospitals, convalescent homes, and rest homes, which authorizes the
sale or service of beer and wine in those areas under specified
circumstances.
This bill would remove the reference to "rest homes" and instead
refer to "senior care facilities."
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.
