   An act to amend Section 6223 of the Penal Code, relating to
restitution centers.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 2046, as introduced, Carter. Restitution centers.
   Existing law requires restitution centers be located in areas that
will maximize the employment opportunities of persons sentenced to
the centers.
   This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to those
provisions.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 6223 of the Penal Code is amended to read:
   6223.  Restitution centers shall be located in areas 
which   that  will maximize the employment
opportunities of persons sentenced to the centers.
