           SUMMARY  

          This bill extends and modifies the sunset dates on more than a  
          dozen professional boards and committees under the jurisdiction  
          of the Department of Consumer Affairs.  Of these boards, nine  
          are related to the health professions and others include the  
          California Architects Board, the Contractors State Licensing  
          Board, and the State Athletic Commission. 

           FISCAL EFFECT  

          No direct fiscal impact to extend the operation of fee-supported  
          (professional fees) boards and commissions under the  
          jurisdiction of the Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA). 

           COMMENTS  

           Rationale  . This bill extends the sunset on about half of several  
          dozen DCA boards and commissions responsible for regulating  
          businesses and licensees affecting the health, safety, and  
          welfare of California consumers.
