SB 388, as introduced, Calderon. Educational materials.
Existing law proscribes the methods pursuant to which educational
materials are selected for use in public schools serving kindergarten
and grades 1 to 12, inclusive.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation to reform the process whereby those educational materials
are selected, in order to expand school district choice, lower
costs, and enhance program effectiveness.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation to reform the process whereby educational materials are
selected for public schools serving kindergarten and grades 1 to 12,
inclusive, in order to expand school district choice, lower costs,
and enhance program effectiveness.
