SUMMARY
This bill makes technical and clean-up amendments to the
California Oil Recycling Enhancement Act. Specifically, the
bill deletes reference to the Integrated Waste Management Board
(IWMB) and replaces it with reference the Department of
Resources Recycling and Recovery (Calrecycle). It also corrects
a one-word typographical error-changing "protecting" to
"product."
FISCAL EFFECT
No state costs.
COMMENTS
1)Rationale . The author describes this bill as necessary to
correct minor but consequential drafting errors in a bill
signed into law in 2009. The author's office states the bill
is not a spot bill to be significantly amended at a later
date.
2)Background . SB 63 (Strickland), Chapter 21, Statutes of 2009,
abolished the IWMB and transferred all of its duties and
responsibilities to DRRR, which was created within the Natural
Resources Agency, under the direction of an executive officer
appointed by the Governor.
