   An act relating to vehicles.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   SB 1134, as introduced, Wiggins. Vehicles: motorcycle or motorized
bicycle: child passenger.
    Existing law prohibits a person from carrying a passenger on a
motorcycle or motorized bicycle unless the passenger is on a seat or
in a sidecar. A violation of this prohibition is a crime.
   This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation to ensure the safety of a child passenger on a motorcycle
or motorized bicycle operated on a highway.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
legislation to ensure the safety of a child passenger on a motorcycle
or motorized bicycle operated on a highway.
