Comments
Thomas Richard Adams was born in San Francisco in 1986. He
was employed by a Humboldt County tree service before
graduating from the CHP Academy in 2009. After spending a
year and a half at the Oakland area office, Officer Adams
was transferred to the Garberville area, where he spent the
remainder of his career. On February 15, 2011, Officer
Adams was killed in the line of duty when his patrol car
crossed over the center lines of SR 101 near Piercy and was
struck by an oncoming pickup truck.
Paul Clyde Jarske was born in North Dakota in 1934. After
being honorably discharged from the Air Force in 1963, he
joined the California Department of Corrections before
being inducted into the CHP. He served in the Norwalk,
Concord, Golden Gate and Garberville areas. On February
24, 1981, his patrol car veered off the road under extreme
weather conditions and plummeted 100 feet before coming to
rest underwater. Despite the rescue efforts of bystanders,
he succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
