           Original Committee Reference: B.,P. & C.P.

SUMMARY : Requires the Medical Board of California (MBC) to post
on its Internet Web site notification of an expungement order
and the date of the order within six months of receiving a
certified copy of the expungement order from a licensee.

The Senate amendments delete the requirement that MBC remove
expunged misdemeanor or felony convictions from their Internet
Web site within 90 days of receiving a certified copy of the
expungement order from a licensee and instead require MBC to
post notification of the expungement order and the date thereof
on its Internet Web site within six months of receipt of a
certified copy receipt of the expungement order.

           EXISTING LAW :

1)Provides for the licensure and regulation of physicians and
surgeons by MBC under the Medical Practice Act.

2)Requires MBC to post certain information on the Internet
regarding licensed physicians and surgeons, including, but not
limited to, felony convictions, certain misdemeanor
convictions, and whether or not a licensee is in good
            standing.

3)Requires that specified information remain posted for 10 years
and prohibits the removal of certain other information.

AS PASSED BY THE ASSEMBLY , this bill was substantially similar
to the version approved by the Senate.

FISCAL EFFECT : According to the Senate Appropriations
Committee, pursuant to Senate Rule 28.8, negligible state costs.
