SUBJECT : Maintenance of the Codes

SOURCE : Office of Legislative Counsel

DIGEST : This bill makes numerous technical changes in
the California codes that have been recommended by the
legislative Counsel's Office. The proposed changes will
not make any substantive change in the law.

Senate Floor Amendments of 7/1/211 delete section relating
          to unemployment insurance: retraining benefits.

Senate Floor Amendments of 6/23/11 correct incorrect cross
          references and other technical errors.

NOTE: This bill passed the Senate with a vote of 39-0
(Consent) on 6/10/11, and was returned for these
                 correction amendments.

ANALYSIS : Every year, the Office of Legislative Counsel
identifies grammatical errors and other errors of a
technical nature that have been inadvertently enacted into
statutory law. The annual "maintenance of the Codes" bill
is the vehicle for implementing these wholesale
corrections. In order to be included in this bill, the
change must be technical only and may not affect or enact
substantive law. Any proposed change that is identified as
having a substantive change is automatically deleted from
          the bill.

This bill makes no changes to existing law.
