           SUMMARY  :  Staggers the terms of California Architects Board 
          (CAB) members appointed by the Governor, as specified.

           The Senate amendments  authorize the CAB to accept an applicant's 
          individual tax identification number, or other appropriate 
          identification number as determined by the CAB, in lieu of a 
          social security number, if the individual is ineligible for a 
          social security account number when applying and is not out of 
          compliance with a child support judgment or order, as specified.

           AS PASSED BY THE ASSEMBLY  , this bill staggered the terms of CAB 
          members appointed by the Governor. 

           FISCAL EFFECT  :  According to the Senate Appropriations 
          Committee, pursuant to Senate Rule 28.8, negligible state costs. 


           COMMENTS  :  This bill was amended in the Senate and is consistent 
          with Assembly actions.
