   An act to amend Section 9301 of the Elections Code, relating to
district elections.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 1962, as introduced, Allen. District elections: petitions.
   Existing law provides, except as specified, that ordinances may be
enacted by any district pursuant to specified initiative provisions.
Existing law provides that any proposed ordinance may be submitted
to the governing board of the district by an initiative petition
filed with the district elections official. Existing law requires
that signatures be obtained in a certain manner and affidavits be
attached to each petition section in a specified form and manner.
   This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to those provisions.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 9301 of the Elections Code is amended to read:
   9301.  Any proposed ordinance may be submitted to the governing
board of the district by an initiative petition filed with the
district elections official. Signatures to these petitions shall be
obtained in the same manner as set forth in Section 9020. Affidavits
shall be attached to each petition section in the form and 
in the  manner set forth in Section 9022.
