AB 2359, as introduced, Feuer. Energy: appliance efficiency.
Existing law requires the State Energy Resources Conservation and
Development Commission, by regulation, to prescribe standards for
minimum levels of operating efficiency for appliances based on a
reasonable use pattern, to promote the use of energy and water
efficient appliances.
This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact
subsequent legislation to reduce growth and absolute consumption of
energy in appliances to protect California's consumers and ratepayers
and California's natural environment.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. It is the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent
legislation to reduce growth and absolute consumption of energy in
appliances to protect California's consumers and ratepayers and
California's natural environment.
