   An act to add Section 1404 to the Military and Veterans Code,
relating to veterans.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   AB 2470, as introduced, Nielsen. Veterans' memorials: Northern
California Veterans Cemetery: Vietnam veterans' sculpture.
   Existing law provides for the development and construction of a
state-owned and state-operated Northern California Veterans Cemetery
located in northern California.
   This bill would recognize the Vietnam veterans, sculpture located
in the Northern California Veterans Cemetery as an official state
memorial for Vietnam veterans.
   Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

  SECTION 1.  Section 1404 is added to the Military and Veterans
Code, to read:
   1404.  The Vietnam veterans' sculpture located in the Northern
California Veterans Cemetery shall be recognized as an official state
memorial for Vietnam veterans.
