SUMMARY : Recognizes July 23, 2011, as the "National Day of the
Cowboy"; and, encourages the people of the State of California
to observe the day with appropriate ceremonies and activities.
Specifically, this resolution makes the following legislative
          findings:

1)The cowboy traditions have been part of the American landscape
and culture since 1523; and, today's cowboys and cowgirls
continue to strive to serve and to preserve and perpetuate
this unique element of America's heritage.

2)Cowboys helped establish America's frontiers and are an
important part of the current economy through the work of
approximately 656,500 ranches in all 50 states; and, the
cowboy archetype transcends gender, generations, ethnicity,
            geographic boundaries, and political affiliation.
