DIGEST : This resolution proclaims September 25, 2012 as
Voter Registration Day, and encourages all eligible
Californians to register to vote by that date.

ANALYSIS : This resolution makes the following
          legislative findings:

1.The purpose of Voter Registration Day is to encourage
participation in democracy and register eligible voters.

2.Roughly 30 percent of eligible voters in California do
not register to vote either because they missed a
registration deadline or did not know how to register to
            vote.

3.An eligible Californian has multiple avenues to register
to vote, including registering at a local public
assistance or disability service agency or at the
Department of Motor Vehicles, completing and mailing a
voter registration card available at all United States
post offices, or, soon, registering online at the
Secretary of State's voter registration Internet Web
