SUMMARY : Designates November 2013 as California Sikh American
Awareness and Appreciation Month; recognizes the contributions
made by Californians of Sikh heritage to the state and affords
all Californians the opportunity to understand, recognize, and
appreciate the rich history and shared principles of Sikh
Americans. Specifically, this resolution makes the following
legislative findings:

the unparalleled diversity of our residents; and, an estimated

in Stockton in 1912; and, Sikh Americans have distinguished
themselves most successfully in the areas of agriculture,
trucking, medicine, and small family-owned businesses.

to make important contributions to our state and nation; and,
