           SUMMARY  

          This measure designates, as the "California Highway Patrol  
          Officer Robert James Quirk Memorial Highway," the 2.3-mile  
          portion of State Route 5 between the Sunset Hills Drive  
          overcrossing and the Nine Mile Hill overcrossing in Tehama  
          County.

           FISCAL EFFECT  

          Minor State Highway Account costs to Caltrans to make and erect  
          appropriate signs; these costs are fully covered by donations.

           COMMENTS 

           Purpose  . This measure honors Officer Quirk, who, on April 11,  
          1971, suffered a fatal heart attack while pursuing three  
          suspects on foot.
