California Legislature—2013–14 Regular Session

Assembly BillNo. 54

Introduced by Assembly Member Gorell

January 7, 2013

An act to repeal Section 3 of Chapter 558 of the Statutes of 2011, relating to elections, and calling an election, to take effect immediately.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL’S DIGEST

AB 54, as introduced, Gorell. Elections: ballot measure.

Existing law requires the Secretary of State to submit ACA 4 of the 2009-10 Regular Session, a proposed legislative constitutional amendment relating to state finance, to the voters at the November 4, 2014, statewide general election, as specified.

This bill would repeal those provisions and instead require the Secretary of State to submit ACA 4 to the voters at the June 3, 2014, statewide primary election.

This bill would declare that it is to take effect immediately as an act calling an election.

Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: yes. State-mandated local program: no.
