           SUMMARY  

          This measure designates, as the "Ohlone Costanoan Esselen  
          Highway," the portion of State Route 68 between Blanco Road in  
          the City of Salinas and Anza Drive in the County of Monterey.

           FISCAL EFFECT  

          Minor State Highway Account costs to Caltrans to make and erect  
          appropriate signs; these costs are fully covered by donations.

          COMMENTS  

           Purpose  . This measure honors the Esselen people-known today as  
          the Ohlone Costanoan Esselen Nation-who have been indigenous to  
          the Monterey County for more than 10,000 years.
