   Relative to Constitution Week.


	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST


   ACR 59, Waldron. Constitution Week.
   This measure would proclaim the week of September 17 through 22,
2013, as Constitution Week and urge California citizens to reaffirm
the ideals of the framers of the Constitution of 1787 by vigilantly
protecting the freedoms guaranteed to us through this guardian of our
liberties, remembering that lost rights might never be regained.



   WHEREAS, The Constitution of the United States of America, the
guardian of our liberties, embodies the principles of limited
government in a republic dedicated to the rule of law; and
   WHEREAS, September 17, 2013, will mark the 226th anniversary of
the framing of the Constitution of the United States of America by
the Constitutional Convention; and
   WHEREAS, Public Law 915 guarantees the issuing of a proclamation
each year by the President of the United States of America
designating September 17 through 22 as Constitution Week; and
   WHEREAS, It is fitting and proper to accord official recognition
to this magnificent document and its memorable anniversary, and to
the patriotic celebrations which will commemorate the occasion; now,
therefore, be it
   Resolved by the Assembly of the State of California, the Senate
thereof concurring, That the Legislature proclaims the week of
September 17 through 22, 2013, as Constitution Week and urges all
Californians to reaffirm the ideals of the framers of the
Constitution of 1787 by vigilantly protecting the freedoms guaranteed
to us through this guardian of our liberties, remembering that lost
rights might never be regained; and be it further
   Resolved, That the Chief Clerk of the Assembly transmit copies of
this resolution to the author for appropriate distribution.
