SUMMARY : This measure would honor the California Council on
Science and Technology for 25 years of service and unbiased
advice to the State of California. Specifically, this
resolution makes the following legislative findings:

1)The California Council on Science and Technology (CCST) was
established in 1988 by Assembly Concurrent Resolution 162 and
directed to bring together experts from academia, industry,
and other research institutions in California to provide
impartial analyses on science and technological issues
            affecting the state.

2)The CCST has worked effectively with the Legislature, the
Governor's office, and many state agencies to analyze
significant and challenging science and technology related
issues in California, ranging from education to climate change
            and exploring California's energy future.

3)The maintenance of California's scientific and technological
infrastructure is vital to the continued growth of this
state's economy; the CCST has proven an effective and
dedicated organization to the study, preservation, and
            enhancement of this infrastructure.
