An act to amend Section 47115 of the Public Resources Code, relating to solid waste.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL’S DIGEST

AB 403, as introduced, Stone. Solid waste: home-generated sharps.

Existing law requires a pharmaceutical manufacturer selling or distributing medication that is intended to be self-injected at home to submit, on an annual basis, to the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery a plan supporting the safe collection and proper disposal of specified waste devices.

This bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes to that provision.

Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.  

Section 47115 of the Public Resources Code is

A pharmaceutical manufacturer that sells or distributes
4a medication in California that is usually intended to be
5self-injected at home through the use of a hypodermic needle, pen
6needle, intravenous needle, or any other similar device, shall, on
7or before July 1, 2010, and annually thereafter, submit to thebegin delete board,
8or its successor agencyend delete
begin insert departmentend insert, a plan that describes how the
