An act to amend Section 8602 of the Family Code, relating to adoption.

AB 467, as introduced, Stone. Family law: adoption.

Existing law provides procedures for the adoption of an unmarried minor. Under existing law, the consent of a child is necessary to the child’s adoption, if the child is over 12 years of age.

This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to that provision.

Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.  

Section 8602 of the Family Code is amended to
read:

8602.  

The consent of a child, if over begin delete the age of end delete 12 years begin insert of age end insert ,
is necessary to the child’s adoption.
