An act to amend Section 8602 of the Family Code, relating to
adoption.

	LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL'S DIGEST

AB 467, as introduced, Stone. Family law: adoption.
Existing law provides procedures for the adoption of an unmarried
minor. Under existing law, the consent of a child is necessary to the
child's adoption, if the child is over 12 years of age.
This bill would make a nonsubstantive change to that provision.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.

THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1. Section 8602 of the Family Code is amended to read:
8602. The consent of a child, if over the age of
12 years of age , is necessary to the child's
adoption.
