An act relating to vehicular air pollution.

LEGISLATIVE COUNSEL’S DIGEST

AB 898, as introduced, Ting. Zero-emission vehicles: infrastructure.

Existing law requires the State Air Resources Board to select projects for zero-emission vehicle leases or purchases and zero-emission vehicle infrastructure for the purpose of implementing any program to encourage the use of zero-emission vehicles through a competitive grant process that includes a public bidding process.

This bill would state the intent of the Legislature to enact subsequent legislation that would reduce motor vehicle emissions through the construction of infrastructure to charge zero-emission electric vehicles, with the goal of expanding the travel range of zero-emission electric vehicles by January 2015 pursuant to a specified executive order.

Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.  

It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
2subsequent legislation that would reduce motor vehicle emissions
3through the construction of infrastructure to charge zero-emission
4electric vehicles, with the goal of expanding the travel range of
P2    1zero-emission electric vehicles by January 2015 pursuant to the
2Governor’s Executive Order B-16-2012, issued March 23, 2012.
