An act relating to the Political Reform Act of 1974.

AB 914, as introduced, Gordon. Political Reform Act of 1974.

The Political Reform Act of 1974 imposes various reporting requirements with regard to contributions and independent expenditures, as defined, made for political purposes.

This bill would declare the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation that would strengthen the act by requiring greater accountability and disclosure by multipurpose groups and nonprofit organizations that make campaign contributions and independent expenditures.

Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no. State-mandated local program: no.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

SECTION 1.  

It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
2legislation that would strengthen the Political Reform Act of 1974
3by requiring greater accountability and disclosure by multipurpose
4groups and nonprofit organizations that make campaign
5contributions and independent expenditures.
