An act to add Section 8588.17 to the Government Code, relating to emergency services.

AB 918, as introduced, Cooley. Emergency services: preparedness.

The California Emergency Services Act sets forth the duties of the Office of Emergency Services with respect to specified emergency preparedness, mitigation, and response activities within the state.

This bill would authorize the office to prepare, in voluntary cooperation with specific local governmental and nongovernmental entities, a specialized plan to mobilize senior citizens and disabled persons during an emergency or natural disaster.

Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: yes. State-mandated local program: no.

The people of the State of California do enact as follows:

Section 8588.17 is added to the Government

8588.17.  

The Office of Emergency Services is authorized to
4prepare a specialized plan to mobilize senior citizens and disabled
5persons during an emergency or natural disaster in cooperation
6with local governmental and nongovernmental entities that provide

2that volunteer to participate in the preparation of the plan.
