(a) The Secretary of State and Consumer Services
8shall submit an application on behalf of the state to the federal
9Department of Health and Human Services to receive a three-year
10grant to establish a Personal and Home Care Aide training
11program, as provided in Sections 4002 and 5507(b) of the federal
12Affordable Care Act.
13(b) The secretary shall write the application so that the program
14includes opportunities for honorably discharged veterans in
15California to be hired in the training program.
Section 1374.3 of the Health and Safety Code is
17amended to read:
Notwithstanding any other provision of this chapter
19or health care service plan contract, every health care service plan
20shall comply with the requirements of Chapter 7 (commencing
21with Section 3750) of Part 1 of Division 9 of the Family Code and
22Section 14124.94 of the Welfare and Institutions Code.
