Existing law establishes 3 segments of public postsecondary education in the state, the California State University, administered by the Trustees of the California State University, the California Community Colleges, administered by the Board of Governors of the California Community Colleges, and the University of California, administered by the Regents of the University of California.
This bill wouldbegin delete express the intent of the Legislature to enact legislation relating to the state use of college-level examination program creditsend deletebegin insert require the California Community Colleges and the California State University, and request the Regents of the University of California, to provide
information about credit by examination opportunities wherever courseend insertbegin insert and class information is availableend insert.
By imposing additional requirements on community college districts, the bill would impose a state-mandated local program.
end insertbegin insertThe California Constitution requires the state to reimburse local agencies and school districts for certain costs mandated by the state. Statutory provisions establish procedures for making that reimbursement.

(a) The California Community Colleges and the

7(b) The Regents of the University of California are requested
8to provide information about credit by examination opportunities
9wherever course and class information is available.
If the Commission on State Mandates determines that
11this act contains costs mandated by the state, reimbursement to
12local agencies and school districts for those costs shall be made
13pursuant to Part 7 (commencing with Section 17500) of Division
144 of Title 2 of the Government Code.
It is the intent of the Legislature to enact
16legislation relating to the state use of college-level examination
17program credits.
