The Information Practices Act of 1977 provides for how an agency maintains and collects personal information. The act requires each agency to maintain in its records only personal information that is relevant and necessary to accomplish a purpose of the agency, as specified.
This bill would make a technical, nonsubstantive change to these provisions.

Section 1798.14 of the Civil Code is amended
