SUMMARY
This bill makes various statutory changes related to reports
filed by state and local agencies with Legislative Counsel, and
to the website for reports maintained by Legislative Counsel.
Specifically, this bill:
1)Authorizes state and local agencies to file these reports with
the Legislative Counsel electronically.
2)Requires Legislative Counsel to make the list of agency
reports available to the public by posting it on an website.
3)Requires Legislative Counsel's list of agency reports to
include information regarding the date on which the report was
filed rather than requiring the completion date of the report.
4)Directs state and local agencies filing electronic copies of
reports with Legislative Counsel to also include a hyperlink
whereby the report may be accessed if posted online.
FISCAL EFFECT
Costs associated with this legislation should minor and
absorbable within existing resources.
COMMENTS
Purpose . The intent of this legislation is to allow the public
to access the various reports submitted to the Legislature by
state agencies.

The author contends that with advances in technology and the
transition to paperless government practices, allowing those
state and local agencies and Legislative Counsel to provide
electronic copies and links to the completed report saves time,
money and resources.
