SUMMARY : Requires the California Department of Food and
Agriculture (CDFA) to post the annual weights and measures
report on its Internet Web site.

           EXISTING LAW :

1)Requires CDFA, except as provided, to have general supervision
of weights and measures and weighing and measuring devices
sold or used in the state.

2)Requires CDFA to annually report on the work related to
weights and measures to the Governor and the Legislature
before each regular session, and to make recommendations that
            may be proper and necessary.

FISCAL EFFECT : According to the Assembly Appropriations
Committee, there are no significant costs associated with this
          legislation.

COMMENTS : CDFA has general supervision of weighing and
measuring devices sold or used throughout the state. CDFA
investigates conditions in the various counties and cities with
respect to weights and measures and the sale of goods, wares,
merchandise, commodities and foodstuffs in containers.
Annually, CDFA reports its recommendations to the Administration
