An act to amend Section 3951 of the Food and Agricultural Code,
relating to district agricultural association.

AB 2246, as introduced, Olsen. District agricultural associations:
formation.
Existing law divides the state into specified agricultural
districts. Existing law authorizes 50 or more persons who are
residents of a district to form a district agricultural association
for specified purposes, including holding fairs, expositions, and
exhibitions for the purpose of exhibiting all of the industries and
industrial enterprises, resources, and products of every kind or
nature of the state.
This bill would make nonsubstantive changes to the provisions
authorizing the formation of district agricultural associations.
Vote: majority. Appropriation: no. Fiscal committee: no.
State-mandated local program: no.
THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1. Section 3951 of the Food and Agricultural Code is
amended to read:
3951. Fifty or more persons, who are residents of a district, may
form an association to be known as and designated as the ____
District Agricultural Association, for the following purposes:
(a) Holding fairs, expositions , and exhibitions for
the purpose of exhibiting all of the industries and industrial
enterprises, resources , and products of every kind or
nature of the state with a view toward for
the purpose of improving, exploiting, encouraging, and
stimulating them.
(b) Constructing, maintaining, and operating recreational and
cultural facilities of general public interest.
